The 31-year-old actress announced her sickness in a Facebook post on Wednesday written in Arabic, and asked for forgiveness from those who had been outraged by her involvement in 'Much Loved.'
The controversial movie which saw the actress run to France after she was violently attacked in Casablanca, was screened at the 2015 Cannes film festival but banned by Morocco's film censors due to it being considered offensive to Islam and Morocco.
Addressing her Facebook fans, that she will be absent for a while due to her treatment sessions, she wrote:
'I am asking people to forgive me. I [personally] have forgiven all those who hurt, insulted and tormented me.”
“I am a strong woman and I live in a developed country [France]. I am still holding out hope for life and positive about my recovery although I am struggling all alone without having someone who could support me during my treatment journey.
'If I could not make it, please bury me in Morocco and cover my funeral coffin with the Amazigh flag, and in my funeral, distribute
roses in all Marrakech’s districts.”
The movie 'Much Loved', was her debut movie.
