The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the market capitalisation which opened trading with N12.52 trillion rose by N208 billion or 1.66 per cent to close at N12.73 trillion.
Similarly, the All-Share Index inched 603.98 points or 1.66 per cent to close higher at 36,920.56 points compared with 36,316.58 points achieved on Thursday.

Zenith International Bank added N1.52 to close at N24.53 per share, while PZ Industries increased by N1.28 to close at N26.93 per share.
Market watchers attributed the development to investors’ repositioning ahead of release of Access Bank and United Bank for Africa (UBA) 2017 half year results.
They said that the repositioning sustained the volatility witnessed in the market in the last couple of days.
Conversely, Okomu Oil Palm recorded the highest loss at the trading, dropping by N3.63 to close at N69.09 per share.
Nigerian Breweries trailed with a loss of N2.98 to close at N181.07 and Cadbury was down by 63k to close at N12.07 per share.

ASUU Strike: Prostitution Will Increase Among Female Students

The Nigerian Sex Workers Association says the ongoing strike embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, which has led to the closure of public universities, will increase prostitution among female students.

The national coordinator of the association, Amaka Enemo, said this during an interview with our correspondent on Friday.

Enemo said, even without the strike, many female students had been engaging in ‘runs’, a euphemism for offering sex for cash or other valuables.

She said if the strike was not called off soon, idle students would embrace sex work.

Enemo said, “Even without the strike, a lot of the students were doing ‘runs’, which is exchanging money for sex. But with the strike, just like a holiday, the rate of sex work will double.

“In this job, strike or holiday period is like a peak period. So, I urge them to stay safe because we cannot kick them off the streets. They should be safe and use condoms.

“The government needs to ensure that the strike is called off because if the students are left idle due to the closure of schools, it means the government is indirectly telling them to go to the streets.”

Dangote - I Do Not Have Any House Abroad, I Drive Myself Around

Aliko Dangote, Nigerian businessman and richest man in Africa, says his refinery which is under construction will be completed in the last quarter of 2017.

In a recent interview with Bloomberg, the chief executive officer of Dangote Group shared his business ideals and the next step for his business empire.

Here are 10 key topics he touched on.

REFINERY IN 2017

Dangote says his refinery, which would refine 650,000 barrels a day, would be among the largest in the world.

“We didn’t really realize that we were going to need almost 70 million cubic meters of sand. But we are catching up, and I’m sure we’ll be able to deliver it by the last quarter of 2017.

“We have actually never failed in delivering any project. We always deliver our projects on time and at cost. If we hadn’t delivered our projects on time, that would be something. We will definitely deliver, by the grace of God.”

LIFETIME PROJECT

To Dangote, the refinery is his lifetime project and he is backing it up with his own life to make sure it is delivered.

“We are using our own money. This is my lifetime project. I have to back it up with my own life to make sure it is delivered. I know that, yes, it’s true, a lot of people have tried to deliver on refineries in the past, mostly governments. They couldn’t.”

HE DOESN’T DO SMALL THINGS

By 2025, Dangote says he would have investments worth $50 billion in the US and Europe.

“Beginning in 2020, 60% of our future investments will be outside Africa, so we can have a balance. We are looking at petrochemicals but can also invest in other companies.

“Let’s say that by 2025, I’m looking at between $20 billion and $50 billion. Mind you, we don’t do small things.”

LEARNT FROM THE MEN WHO BUILT AMERICA

“I never worry about being too bold. In business it’s good to be aggressive, but with a human face.

“I thought at first I was really aggressive until I watched this show, The Men Who Built America. I realized that actually they were much bolder than us. Someone like Vanderbilt, he built 50,000 miles of rail! That is a very bold move. That’s why anything we do, we don’t do it small. If there’s any human being who has done this equally, I am equal to the task to do the same. I actually have a sign on my desk that says, ‘Nothing is impossible’.”

NO INTEREST IN TELECOMS

Aliko Dangote says he has no interest in the telecoms industry, his reason being that he is late to the party.

“When I look at telecom, for instance, I think that would be very tough for us. We are a little late. Some players have been in this market for 17 years already. There’s no way you can go and jump over somebody after 17 years of their hard work. So I think we would pass when it comes to telecom today.”

HE WISHES HE INVESTED IN TECHNOLOGY

Dangote says he’d have loved to invest in tech, especially because companies in that industry get bigger valuations than industries like agribusiness.

“Look at the US, the way the tech companies are getting massive. And it’s still nothing compared to the GEs, yet those don’t get that kind of valuation. I wish that we’d entered tech, but our concentration has always been in Africa.”

ARSENAL ON THE WISH-LIST

Another thing on the wish-list of the 60-year-old businessman is to buy Arsenal football club.

“I don’t want to go after Arsenal until I deliver the refinery. Once I deliver, I will go after Arsenal.

“I don’t change clubs. Even when Arsenal isn’t doing well I still stick by them. It’s a great team, well-run. It could be run better, so I will be there. I will wait. Even if things change I will take it and make the difference going forward.”

NOT INTERESTED IN POLITICS

Dangote says he has no desire to go into politics because he loves his freedom too much to lose it.

“I’m not interested. There’s quite a lot we can do from the business side. I enjoy a lot of what I am doing, and I also love my freedom—and I don’t have too much. The little I have, politics would take away. I am not ready to give that up. There are businessmen who are interested in politics. I’m not one of them.”

INTEGRITY IS HARD TO COME BY

When asked of the human flaw that frustrates him the most in business, Dangote says it’s integrity.

“In Africa, you normally need to know who you’re dealing with. You have to make sure you’re dealing with very honest people who have integrity—that’s why we have so few partnerships. Dangote itself has plenty of headaches to take care of.”

PREFERS MAKING MONEY TO SPENDING IT

In Dangote’s words, he doesn’t like to throw away money and has no home outside Nigeria. He likes a simple and quiet life.

“I’m not a person who just likes to throw away money. I spend more money on charitable things than myself. I actually don’t have any home outside Nigeria. I stay in hotels. Quiet. Simple. My life is not very lavish, and I actually get very embarrassed if I try to show that I have money.

“In Lagos, I drive myself around on weekends. I ask my driver to go rest, and then I drive myself around. I still visit my normal friends I grew up with. My house is open 24 hours a day for them. I mingle with everybody. That’s the only way to get to know what’s going on.”

Beggars In Kano State Return To Streets

Many beggars in Kano have returned to their businesses in spite of a state government order in 2016 which banned street begging.

Our correspondent who visited some streets in the state capital on Friday, reports that many beggars were seen on the streets, including Sabo Bakin Zuwo road leading to the Kano Government House.
.
Some of the beggars who spoke to NAN said they returned to the streets because they were dying of hunger.
Malam Adamu Babale, said he came to Kano daily from his village to beg for money to cater for his family.
He said if he had a trade to engage in he would not have returned to street begging.
A female beggar Malama Batula Sa’idu, explained though complied with the order banning begging in the state, but could not help but beg once in a while.
The management of the state Hisbah Board said they usually conduct a surveillance aimed at arresting beggars and charge them to court.
.
The Director-General of Hisbah, Alhaji Abba Sufi, told NAN that the agency arrested the beggars because the state had earlier empowered them before banning the act.
He expressed concern that though some of the beggars had invested in the trade they were empowered, yet they were not satisfied.
Sufi, however, warned beggars to desist from the act, saying that the board would soon strengthen its surveillance with a view to prosecuting those of them found disobeying the law banning begging
.
Kano State Government banned street begging about a year ago after empowering thousands of street beggars in various trades.

Oyo Identifies 60 New Erosion Prone Sites, Seeks Fg’s Intervention

About 60 new sites vulnerable to erosion among other ecological threats have been identified in Oyo state, Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Mr Isaac Ishola has disclosed.

Ishola made disclosure on Monday at the instance of the visit by the Ecological fund office, Abuja, to the state to assess ecological problem sites.

Speaking at Eleekara Academy, Ibadan, which one of the problem sites visited, Ishola said the visit was in line with the request by the state for continued federal government intervention in addressing ecological problems.

Beyond the 60 fresh sites, he noted that state government had also sought federal government’s intervention in some other problematic sites.

Speaking on observations from the assessment, leader of the Ecological fund team, Mr Lawrence Ojabo decried poor maintenance of existing structures, dumping of refuse in drainages and blockage of waterways.

He bemoaned that Nigerians continued to create problems for themselves by failing to take heed to environmental sanitation rules.

He said collaboration between federal, state and local communities was the FG’s strategy in resolving ecological problems.

“Some of these problems are our own creations. If you clog the water ways, you create problems and there would be devastation because water will find its own level. If you dump refuse on water ways, drainages, you create problems and this is a major problem in our environment. This is not helpful to the government, community and individuals.”

“Government does not have enough resources to re-do projects that were done before. Due to lack of maintenance, you see a lot of structures giving way. So the federal government is trying to ensure that federal, state and local government work together to address ecological problems.”

The ecological fund team which toured various ecological problematic sites in Ibadan, on Monday, will visit other parts of Oyo state by Thursday.

EUC Homes launches premium estate in Lagos, vow to end homelessness by 2027

The daunting task of tackling the menace of homelessness in Nigeria is gradually moving away from being a dream to reality.
Real estate development firm, EUC Homes, has launched a new premium estate in Oworonshoki, a suburb of Nigeria’s commercial capital Lagos state.
The Public Relations Officer of the firm, Mr. Babatunde, in a statement released on Tuesday, said The Third Mainland Courts located at the Oworonshoki shoreline was part of the company’s plan to end homelessness in Nigeria by 2027.
According to Mr Babatunde, The Third mainland court would be a haven providing the security of a genuine Supreme Court title document and proposed top notch infrastructure and amenities befitting the luxurious landscape.
He said that firm had also established the EUC Homes Foundation which would come up with guides, publicise successful strategies that will inspire a sustained and strategic philanthropic response to homelessness, hunger, and illiteracy.
The statement said, "As we unveil this masterpiece, making dream homes come true is incomplete without making the homeless feel at home we therefore urge you to give back to the community in the little ways possible while maximizing this strategic location for your residential, commercial, educational, institutional or recreational purposes for the most beautiful home experience and guaranteed return on investment."
The Public Relations officer also emphasized the funding of the foundation would be boosted by 1% of the proceeds from the new estate adding that although the property is very affordable, 1% of proceed would be spent towards the foundation.

He said, “The foundation has the mission to enhance lives of the homeless giving them a feel of home by addressing their basic needs through charity events and providing educational support within and outside its base. Our achievements in office are undeniable- PDP replies Presidency, APC

Read the press statement below
1. We have read comments made by the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives’ Congress (APC), Alhaji Bolaji Ojo-Abdullahi, Mallam Garba Shehu, Special Assistant to the President on Media, and other senior members of the Ruling Party such as former Governor, Segun Oni and Dr. Osita Okechukwu, the Director General of the Voice of Nigeria where they attempted to rubbish the comments made by former President Goodluck Jonathan that his Administration performed well during his term in office.
2. It is our firm belief that these statements were borne out of ignorance, lacking in depth and are devoid of the Sort of critical thinking that one would expect from highly placed government officials. However, these officials seem bent on continuing what has become an official position of the Ruling Party to reduce commentary on public issues, and indeed the art of governance to comedy.
3. It is shameful and embarrassing that having been in power for two and a half years, the Ruling Party is unable to point to cogent, convincing and data driven achievements. Instead, it has spent the bulk of its time designing and implementing a communication strategy around massive propaganda, half truths and outright falsehood in an attempt to continually deceive the Nigerian people.
4. For the sake of emphasis, we reiterate our position that the Administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan performed well during its term in office. There are no indices anywhere in Nigeria, or indeed in the world, by which the Administration of President Muhammadu Buhari can be measured as performing better than any PDP administration since 1999.
5. For the avoidance of doubt, some of the achievements of our Party while in power include:
(a) As at May 29, 2015, Nigeria was the Largest Economy in Africa valued at over $500billion. A combination of the incoherent policies and incompetence of the Ruling Party have significantly shrunk the size of the Nigerian Economy since the Inception of the Current Administration.
(b) As at May 29, 2015, Nigeria was the No, 1 Destination for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Africa. Up to that point, investors responded to the policies designed and implemented by the Jonathan Administration by investing billions of Dollars in the Nigerian Economy.
However, since the Inauguration of the Buhari Administration, investors have voted with their feet having been discouraged by the inchoate and incoherent policies being implemented by the APC led Federal Government.
(c) The Jonathan Administration maintained a 'Single Digit Inflation Rate' for several years. Inflation stood at 9.6% at the Inception of the Buhari Administration. The incompetence of the Current Economic Management Team has resulted in inflation rising as high as 18.72% in January 2017 before settling at 16.1% in July 2017. This had led to the Skyrocketing of the Price of goods, services and food items thereby making staples unaffordable to millions of Nigerians.
It is not a coincidence that the last time Nigerians had to deal with the Current level of widespread hunger and lack was when President Muhammadu Buhari held sway as military Head of State between 1984 and 1985.
(d) The APC led Federal Government inherited an economy that had grown at an average of 7% per annum for the previous 10 years. Indeed, when President Buhari spoke at the Chatham House in February 2015, he admitted that the Nigerian economy had experienced growth for several years. At the time, several global economic experts projected Nigeria to be among the top 7 growing economies in the world in 2016.
However, the APC led Federal Government has managed to lead the Nation to 6 consecutive quarters of economic recession without a coherent, cogent strategy to bring our economy out of the woods.
(e) The Jonathan Administration is widely acclaimed for conducting free, fair and credible elections. Since the Inception of the Current Administration, Nigerians have witnessed widespread and blatant manipulation of the electoral process to suit the whim of the Ruling Party. Easy examples can be found in the refusal to postpone the Ondo State Gubernatorial Election even though valid reasons existed that warranted its postponement; and the postponement of the Edo State Gubernatorial Election for no justifiable reason when it became obvious that the Ruling Party was going to lose that election to enable it manipulate the process. Since the Inception of this Administration, the Phenomenon of "inconclusive elections" has become a regular feature of our electoral system.
(f) The Jonathan Administration had implemented an agricultural sector transformation programme that ensured a reduction of the National Food Import Bill by encouraging increased local production of staple food items. An example of the Results of this policy was the Reduction of the Price of a bag of rice from N14,000 per bag in 2012 to N8, 500 in 2014. The Price of a bag of rice currently stands at N18, 000 having peaked at N22,000 per bag in 2016.
The success of this programme ensured that the Massive flooding which hit many farming communities in the food production belts of the Country in 2012 did not result in famine and a radical increase in the costs of staple food items.
(g) The Jonathan Administration took an institutional approach to tackling corruption in the Country. In this wise, the Administration designed several technological tools to tackle corruption. These include:
• Treasury Savings Account (TSA)
• Government Integrated Financial Management Information System (GIFMIS)
• Integrated Payroll & Personnel Information System (IPPIS)
When added to other institutional anti-corruption tools like
the Economic & Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Crimes Commission (ICPC), our Party instituted the existing institutional framework with which to fight corruption.
It is imperative to point out that, despite being in charge of the Executive and possessing a majority in both houses of the National Assembly, the Ruling Party has failed to add anything to or strengthen the Anti-corruption framework and infrastructure of the Country.
It is also incumbent on us to point out that the Current Administration has taken a pedestrian approach to fighting corruption by engaging in media trials rather than actively prosecuting cases in court. This approach has had an adverse effect on the Country with the Egmont Group, an international financial intelligence sharing anti-corruption body, using the Nigerian prosecution agencies penchant for sharing sensitive information with the Media as a basis for Nigeria’s suspension from the Group.
6. The list of achievements of the Jonathan Administration, and indeed past PDP administrations, are too numerous to mention and completely dwarf the wasted years of APC’s governance.
7. It is important to note that several senior members of APC who constantly feel the need to deride and denigrate our Party using falsehoods as a foundation were once members of our Party. It is important to point out, for instance, that Alhaji Bolaji Ojo-Abdullahi was a Minister under the Jonathan Administration, Chief Segun Oni was also a former member of our Party on whose platform he rose to become Governor of Ekiti State.
Having served in such offices, it does not lie in the mouth of such men to state that PDP failed Nigerians. If these men, and others of their ilk find it so convenient to deny their past, we wonder what they will say about the Present in the near future.
8. It is necessary to inform the Ruling Party that Nigerians are suffering under the Weight of the Anti-people policies they have been forced to live and do business under. As a result, the Ruling Party's days at the helm of affairs are numbered. The professional propagandists of the APC will realize too late that blaming the ills of the Country on past administrations while doing nothing about them for four clear years will not save them on the Day of Judgement. And the Day of reckoning is very much at hand.
God bless Nigeria! God bless the PDP!!

Photo: "I was beaten and stripped naked in open yard"- Nigerian woman loses her twins at 4 weeks after alleged brutal beating by her husband

Lawyer and activist, Emeka Ugwuonye shared his client's story of domestic abuse. The victim,  Mrs Favour Ogbonna, has endured physical and mental abuse from her husband since they got married in 2015. In fact,  the beating started barely a month after their wedding.

The latest incident which occurred last June led to the loss of their twins. Read her story below:

MY ORDEAL IN MARRIAGE 2015 - 2017
Good morning! My name is Favour Ogbonna. I married and wedded on the 22nd  23rd of August, 2015 and return to my husband's place after our traditional marriage. My ordeal started just a month after.
Sept 2015 : a month after I was beaten up by my husband  in the present of his mother bcos my daddy called him on the phone n they were discussing at the end he requested for provision but he was joking. My husband called his mother and started insulting my parents n i told him to stop insulting them he started beating me.
March 2016 :I went for antinental  and was given bill which I paid. The next day my husband ask me how much I spent and I told him, he said that the bill is too much why didn't I price and I told him that is not easy to argue for bills in the hospital. He started beating me and I rushed to my uncle who called him and cautioned him and we went back to the house.

April 2016 :I over heard my husband discussing on the phone with his friend, after the discussion, my husband started insulting me and my parents:I asked, him to stop that he started beating me and he seized everything he bought for me and ask me to go. This issue was settled by our marriage parents.
May 2016 :my husband was annoyed that some of his clothes which he washed and spread outside were forgotten, for this reason he kept me hungry for two days. I nearly lost my pregnancy bcos of hunger. His sister settled this issue.
July 2016 :I was beaten and stripped naked in open yard in the morning. In the evening of the same day, I was also beaten mercilessly. Later, my husband ran away for three days I was left without food and I was forced to pack all my belongings to my father's house.
Sept 2016 : my husband came to my father's house and revealed why he has not been happy with me and my parents. He said that I belong to CULT GROUP, that he was informed that I am harlot agent while in the University, that he wanted to terminate the marriage long ago but because of the pregnancy he didn't do it.
June 2017 :this date is unforgettable in my life. I was so mercilessly battered by my husband that I felt unconscious with blood gushing all over my body, still he held me on the ground and continued beating me. It took the intervention of a passing by which his sister called before I was rescued a life.
The mother of my husband is against the marriage because according to her I'm not from their side.

During the latest beating, one month pregnancy of twin was aborted by the beating. This was reported by the doctor and conveyed to him.

The irony of the whole thing now is that my husband is accusing me of infidelity and he is now questioning the paternity of the 13 months old baby. And I sued him to court.

Late Natalie Cole's son dies at 39

The son of legendary singer late Natalie Cole was found dead Monday night, and he was only 39, according to a report by TMZ. Read the report below...

Robert Yancy's body was found in his San Fernando Valley apartment when a friend who hadn't heard from him in a few days checked up on him.

Family members tell us ... authorities contacted them at 2:30 AM Tuesday and said Robert died of a heart attack. Law enforcement tells us, pending an autopsy, they have listed it as death from natural causes, but that can change once the autopsy and toxicology tests are completed.

The family tells us authorities were clear to them, drugs were not involved. As you know, Natalie famously fought drug addiction throughout her adult life until her 2015 death. Her cause of death was congestive heart failure.

Family members say Robert -- the grandson of Nat King Cole -- had never abused drugs and was "turning his life around." He worked in the music industry.

Robert's dad died of a heart attack at age 34, so it could be heart disease runs in the family.

Man Contacts Diamond Bank To Return N7.3M Mistakenly Paid To His Account

A Nigerian Man has taken to Micro-blogging site, Twitter to cry out after he received a credit alert of over 7 million naira in his Diamond Bank Account.

The user, @raynergy, said the transfer was made by a company, though he didn’t disclose the actual company, but it’s been 24 hours, and he hasn’t been contacted by the bank or the company to return the money.

He wrote:

Dear @DiamondBankNG exactly at this time yesterday 7,310,000.00, seven million three hundred and ten thousand was transferred to my account.

The transfer was made by a company. It’s exactly 24 hours & I have not been contacted. The money is not mine and I want it out of my account

Please follow back so I can DM my account information and any other details you may require. Thank you.

This immediately prompted a Twitter poll by a Nigerian, who asked other Nigerians what they’d have done if they got a credit alert from an unknown source.

Mothers Shares Secret…In Less Than 2 Months Ellen Became Sound, Understanding Maths Concepts And Fully Ready For The Academic Session Ahead

All parents want to provide their child with the best possible education ensuring that they are equipped with the grades they need to pursue their future ambitions. The question is “how many parents are willing to take the bull by the horn doing all it takes to see their child excel?”
While some parents have tried several methods that most times end up futile, some even go further to devise timetables to ensure their child studies productively. All these I tried with my daughter until I was introduced to the most effective.
Here is how it started…
After Ellen’s 3rd term result it was made obvious that are weakest subjects were Mathematics and few other science related subjects. She has always struggled with Maths but this time it was so so bad I had to embark on the mission to transform her grades before it becomes irreparable.
I totally gave up on my ability to solely help her so I contacted a friend who also works as a teacher in a private school, well…she was the only one that came to my mind at that desperate time and of course she is a teacher so she should be able to proffer solutions.
I was shocked as she made several revelations as to why Ellen should get the support of a private tutor and how to get the best tutors in Lagos but first she mentioned the importance of having a child who is academically sound especially in Mathematics. Her recommendations created the turnaround in Ellen’s grade.
She got me overwhelmed with these shocking facts
Logic, the most fundamental element of rational thought, is based on the same concepts that make up basic mathematics. The make-up and use of equations to discover correct numerical values is directly tied to our use of language to uncover meaning. This means that a child’s ability to communicate and come to agreements is exercised through our use of math. But even more importantly, these concepts in Mathematics collectively teach a student important lessons like problem solving, rational thinking, and study habits.
She further answered the question most parents ask, “why do I need a private tutor?”
In recent years private tutoring has often been cited as one of the most effective ways of helping students achieve their academic potential. For students struggling with a particular subject it is often difficult for teachers in classrooms to give them the attention and support they need.
However, this is not to imply that the teacher or school is at fault.
In a classroom there are a number of other students and the teachers have the responsibility to divide their attention amongst all the pupils. They have to keep the students motivated and interested, and ensure that the topics are taught within a certain timeframe so that all subject material has been effectively covered.
By opting for private tutoring students can benefit from one-to-one attention and personalised lesson plans that specifically address their weaker subject areas. Gambia begins financial probe into ex-President, Yahya Jammeh

A commission in charge of investigating former President Yahya Jammeh’s finances has started its hearings in Gambia.

The country’s ministry of justice believes that tens of million dollars of public money was looted from state funds by the former leader during his 22-year rule.  Three bankers and the director of the revenue service were questioned at the start of the public hearings.

The mining activities of one of Mr Jammeh’s companies, and the alleged disappearance of taxpayer’s money are all under investigation as well. The charity of the former ruler, the Jammeh Foundation for Peace is also under scrutiny.

The commission of investigation was set up by the new government of President Adama Barrow in July.  Its five members will look into allegations of abuse of power, embezzlement of public funds, and possible violations of the constitution.

Earlier in the year, $50m in assets, including 86 bank accounts and over 100 properties were seized by the government from  Mr Jammeh who ruled The Gambia for 22 years until he lost the 2016 elections to Barrow. In January he fled the country and settled in Equatorial Guinea.

'I want to leave'- Philippe Coutinho hands in transfer request after Liverpool reject €100m bid from Barcelona

Liverpool and Brazil star, Phillipe Coutinho, has sensationally handed in a transfer request to leave the club barely hours after Liverpool owners, Fenway Sports Group revealed that the mercurial attacking midfielder wasn't for sale at any price.
Coutinho was one of the best players in the premier league last season, and has been courted by Real Madrid and Barcelona, but Liverpool have rejected bids for the Brazilian, the last being a 100 million euros bid from Barcelona- stating that he will not be leaving the club;
We wish to offer clarity as regards to our position on a possible transfer of Philippe Coutinho,” a statement on behalf of FSG read.
“The club’s definitive stance is that no offers for Philippe will be considered and he will remain a member of Liverpool Football Club when the summer window closes.”

The 25 year old Coutinho just signed a new 5 year deal with Liverpool in January, making Liverpool to be at a strong bargaining position, but it's clear that the player's isn't interested any longer and according to Sky Sports, he has handed in a transfer request as Barcelona plan to make him Neymar's replacement.
'Philippe Coutinho has issued Liverpool with an official transfer request following the owners' statement that he is not for sale', according to Sky sources.
Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, said;
"If FSG is saying something like this, then that’s the statement. I’ve said it already a few times, but maybe it’s not been 100% clear, but now you can read it - maybe that’s the difference!," he noted.
"That’s the way it will go and there’s nothing else to say about this."

Usher was with his Plus sized accuser in her hotel room - Staff claims

A woman claiming to be a former employee of the hotel where Usher allegedly had sex with the plus sized lady who's accusing and suing him for exposing her to herpes, has claimed the singer was at the hotel.
The source who says she worked at the Days Inn in Atlantic City,  less than a mile from the concert venue told TMZ that she saw Usher come into the lobby shortly after midnight on November 16. She says Sharpton Quantasia came down, greeted the singer in the lobby and brought him to her room.
She also claimed that she asked Usher for a selfie and he said he'd take one with her before leaving the hotel.
According to her, she waited an hour but he never returned.
Although, a few days ago sources connected to Usher revealed that the singer did not have sex with Sharpton because she wasn't his type of woman.

Nigerian gay rights activist, Aderonke Apata, granted asylum in the UK after 13-year legal battle

A Nigerian gay rights activist, Aderonke Apata, has won a 13-year battle to be granted asylum in the UK. Aderonke has over the years been denied asylum on grounds that she was faking her sexuality. She launched a campaign globally via social media for the UK government to grant her asylum as she feared being killed if she ever gets repatriated to Nigeria. She was denied asylum in 2015 after the presiding judge said her disposition did not portray that of a lesbian lady. Even after she shared photos with her Nigerian lesbian partner, Happiness Agboro, the UK Home office still said they do not believe her claim.

Aderonke expressed delight after her application for asylum was finally granted today. Speaking to The Independent, she said
"I overwhelmed with gladness but remain angry knowing that there are other LGBTI people seeking asylum facing the same fear of deportation that I had just overcome. I was just crying on the phone with my solicitor when he broke the news to me. I must have embarrassed him. I wasn’t assimilating all of the information he was giving to me on the phone as I was crying and singing.”
She expressed anger at the Home office in the UK for accusing her of lying about her sexuality.
“Despite the gains in acceptance of LGBTI people in the UK, LGBTI people seeking asylum in the UK’s situation remains precarious and appears not to fit into the wider LGBTI community. The Home Office needs to catch up with the rest of the UK, drop its vile ‘proof of sexuality’ policy and move on from 1967. All LGBTI people seeking asylum in the UK want , like anyone else, is to be treated with fairness, dignity and humanity. Having been forced to flee by hate and intolerance at home, being branded a liar by the Home Office is demeaning and cruel for LGBTI people seeking asylum. I hope the Home Office will look back, reflect on my case and treat everyone with the decency and respect they deserve.”

Italian girl denied job for dating an African man

A girl in the Piedmont, Italy was turned down for a retail assistant position by a shopkeeper because she is in a relationship with an African man.
According to Corriere della Sera, the shopkeeper is purported to have told the girl:
"As far as I'm concerned, you can go out with the Monster of Florence (ED: a serial killer who butchered women in the 1990s), but allow me to not entrust the safety of my store to those who share their life with an African,"
The story went viral after Chiara del Gaudio shared the exchange on her Facebook profile. According to reports, Claudio, the shopkeeper, advised the 18-year-old to not show photos of her relationship if she wants to find a job.

"Episodes such as the one reported do not belong to our culture," added Coppa, stressing the role that immigrants play in the city's economy."
Ms Coppa also posted Huffington report on the incident and wrote:
"The history of our businesses is also made by many immigrant workers who are engaged in their desire to work, for their professional skills and with the hope of offering them a better future. Respect and integration are values that animate our activities and incidents such as that in the denucia of trade unions do not belong to our culture."
Torino has a large North African and Muslim community. Millions of Italians and foreigners have migrated to Torino to work for Fiat and other major industrial companies in the last decade.

#ResumeOrResign: Aso Rock Working With Recruited Thugs To Attack Us- Charly boy

1. This morning a group of people attempted to attack participants of our peaceful #ResumeOrResign sit out as we were concluding activities for the day. The attempted attack was totally unprovoked and was carried out with the intention of intimidating participants of our procession into discontinuing participation. It took the intervention of security agencies on ground to stop them.

2. This attack came shortly after we had been informed by officers that policemen would be unavailable to prevent a breakdown of law & order on Saturday August 12, 2017 because of other engagements.

3. We are reliably informed that these thugs are sponsored by the Federal Government and members of the cabal that seek to prevent us from asking for full disclosure of the health status of President Muhammadu Buhari.

4. We are also reliably informed that the intention behind this attack and the plan to withdraw the police from Unity Fountain is to leave our group open to attacks. These further attacks will then be used as a foundation to issue a blanket ban on peaceful gatherings such as ours under the guise of preventing further breakdown of law and order.

5. We see through the antics of aides to the President, the cabal and the security agencies all playing the same script. It is for this reason that it is imperative to raise this alarm.

Our group remains committed to a peaceful achievement of our target of demanding for full disclosure about the illness of President Buhari.

We also state that we will not be provoked into resorting to violence or any such activities that will violate our core principles and ethics.

God bless Nigeria.

'Kim Jong-Un will not get away with what he's doing, he'll regret it fast' - Donald Trump goes hard again!

U.S President Donald Trump has issued a 'new red line' concerning the ongoing war rhetoric between the White House and Pyongyang, saying North Korea's supreme leader Kim Jong-Un will not get away with his threats towards the United States and that if he makes one more threat towards the United States, Guam or allies of the United States, he'll regret it fast.
The warning came a few hours after an early morning tweet from the U.S president saying US military options were “locked and loaded” for use if Pyongyang “acted unwisely”- further creating more tensions among citizens within the Korean peninsula.
North Korean warned it will launch four missiles at the waters around US Pacific territory of Guam if Trump continues to threaten the safety of the North Korean government to which Trump responded by saying the U.S will respond with 'fear and fury'.
Trump stood by his words when asked about them at his golf resort in New Jersey on Friday evening.
“I hope they are going to fully understand the gravity of what I said, and what I said is what I mean,” Trump said. “Those words are very, very easy to understand.”
“If somebody else uttered the exact same words that I uttered, they’d say: ‘What a great statement, what a wonderful statement,’” Trump said. “But I will tell you, we have tens of millions of people in this country that are so happy with what I am saying, because they say, ‘Finally, we have a president that’s sticking up for our nation and frankly, sticking up for our friends and our allies.’”
He then issued an ultimatum to Kim Jong-un himself. “This man will not get away with what he’s doing,” he said. “If he utters one threat in form of overt threat – which, by the way, he’s been uttering for years – or if he does anything in respect to Guam or anyplace else that’s an American territory or an American ally, he will truly regret it.”
“We want to talk about a country that has misbehaved for many many years – decades, actually – through numerous administrations, and they didn’t want to take on the issue and I had no choice but to take it on, and I’m taking it on. And we’ll either be very, very successful quickly or we’re going to be very, very successful in a different way, quickly.”
